Cara would be more than happy to help you with your specific needs and accomplish your goals with your horse. She curates a special program for every horse and rider team. Please send her a message below to discuss how she can help you and your trusty steed.

All of our schoolmasters have extensive training and several years of experience. Many of them are retired show horses and have impressive records that include Regional and National titles. It is our mission to keep them happy and healthy so that they are safe, willing partners for you to learn on.

Please note that all visits to our home farm are by appointment only. We do not offer boarding or training board.

Barn and Lesson Policies

School Horse Lessons

Unfortunately, we are no longer offering lessons on our school horses. Our horses are retired or nearing retirement. We apologize for the inconvenience and wish you luck in your search for a riding lesson facility.

Release forms

All required paperwork/release forms are to be completed and given to Cara before your first lesson begins.

Lesson payment

Monthly lesson packages: the lesson time and horse is reserved for you for the entire month. All lessons are prepaid. Payment is due at the last lesson of the previous package to hold your time slot for the following month. Students will not be allowed to ride if payment has not been received. Individual lessons: payment is due at time of booking.

Riding attire

An approved riding helmet and appropriate riding boots with a heel are required. Hair should be up under helmet or in a ponytail. Snug fitting or tucked in shirt is preferred. Pants should be long and fitted, jeans are not suggested.

Cancellation and make-up lesson policy

Lesson slots and horses are reserved for you for the entire month.  Should you know in advance that you would miss a lesson, you are still responsible for paying for that lesson time slot.  Reasonable effort will be made to accommodate one make-up lesson per month.  Students must call more than 24 hours in advance to be eligible for a make-up lesson and the make-up lesson must be scheduled within 30 days of the absence. Missed lessons cannot be deducted from the amount due.  No-shows or late calls forfeit the cost of the lesson.

Barn closures

Scheduled and unscheduled barn closures are rare but happen occasionally for bad weather conditions or Cara being out of town. In the event of bad weather, Cara will make every effort to contact you as soon as possible. When we close the barn, or cancel a paid lesson, we will credit the lesson on your next monthly invoice.

Barn Hours

We are a private facility run from our home farm. Since we do not offer boarding and all horses are owned by Cara, appointment is required to be on premises.
